The answers to your questions!
Cedars installed by Les Entreprises Latraverse inc. are guaranteed for 12 months.
The 1-year warranty means that Les Entreprises Latraverse inc. will come out 1 time during the warranty period to replace your cedars that have died as a result of poor treatment during transport or potting. However, if your hedge dies, in whole or in part, as a result of poor maintenance on the part of the owner - i.e. too much or too little watering; failure to install a drain if necessary; too much fertilizer or inappropriate fertilizer; etc. - Les Entreprises Latraverse inc. will replace it. Les Entreprises Latraverse inc. will replace the cedar hedge for half the cost of installation.
In spring, a granular fertilizer can be applied to the base of each plant. Once the cedar has regained its dark color, fertilizer can be applied again. Fertilizer should be applied twice a year, on April 15 and before June 15 for the second application.
We recommend pruning your cedars the year after planting. During the first year, the cedar is putting down roots. Pruning can be done in June-July and up to August 15. Please note that regardless of the age of your hedge, we offer fertilizers with our pruning services.
For the first month, we recommend keeping the soil moist. A freshly planted cedar hedge should be watered three or four times a week for about a month. After that, give it about 1" of water every week. In hot weather, you can increase the dose to 2 in. and distribute it in two waterings. Don't forget that a good rain counts as one watering.
During the first year of planting, it's normal to see the foliage of your cedars turn yellow. There's new growth in the season, and the old foliage is falling off. This shows that your cedars are in good health.
We strongly recommend protecting your cedars in winter. For the best protection, cover your cedar hedge with a specially designed protective net. This will keep your hedge looking attractive and help it withstand heavy snow. Avoid installing winter protection too early in the fall or removing it too late in the spring. Warmer temperatures may cause the inside of the covers to overheat. Also, don't smother the cedar by over-tightening the protection.
We're going to change the cedars, which are completely orange... However, over- or under-watering or an unprotected hedge on the roadside can compromise the warranty.
Please note that the warranty includes a maximum of 10% of dead cedars.
